Moving off Singular: what to know before you switch

Moving off Singular? See its user-level retention windows, the 30-day renewal notice and data deletion terms, how SKAN models reach Meta and its dual-MMP guide.

Short answer

Moving off Singular means exporting user-level data inside short retention windows, giving notice under the terms, moving SKAN to one new SDK and switching link domains. Singular's terms say that on termination all Customer Data on the services shall be permanently deleted.

What does leaving Singular involve?

Leaving Singular is the work of exporting the data you want to keep, removing the Singular SDK and its partner postbacks, moving SKAN conversion value management and link domains to a new provider, and closing the contract on its published notice terms.

The five workstreams:

  • Data: export user-level logs before they age out, and keep aggregated reports.
  • Contract: find the renewal date and the 30-day notice point.
  • SKAN: hand conversion values to one new SDK and re-import the model into Meta.
  • Links: move your branded domain off sng.link.
  • Partners: switch off postbacks per app site.

What can you export from Singular before you go?

Singular offers three routes to user-level data: the Export Logs page (CSV), Data Destinations (ETL) and internal BI postbacks. On the Export Logs page you can download data from the beginning of the previous month, according to Singular's Export Logs FAQ.

Default user-level retention:

DataDefault retention
Impressions14 days
Clicks30 days
Postbacks30 days
Events, attribution and fraud dataFrom the start of the previous month (up to 60 days)
  • Shorter limits: Singular may restrict user-level retention to 30 days in certain cases.
  • ETL: pushes aggregated data roughly every 6 hours and user-level data every hour to warehouses or storage. Singular calls ETL "an enterprise feature".
  • Backfill for a new ETL destination: not published.

User-level data: row-level records of individual clicks, installs and events, as opposed to totals. With windows this short, set up a regular export early; the guide to keeping historical attribution data covers what to store.

What do Singular's published terms say about notice and your data?

Singular's terms (last updated 12 July 2026) set the defaults below. Your Order Form or Service Entitlement may differ.

  • Renewal: terms renew automatically for periods equal to the Initial Term unless a party gives written notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the current period ends.
  • Breach: either party may terminate for a material breach not cured within 21 days of written notice.
  • On termination: your account on the services "will shut down", and all Customer Data stored on the services is permanently deleted.
  • Personal data retention: the period set out in the Service Entitlement.

Because deletion follows termination, finish every export before the end date.

How does Singular handle SKAN, and what changes?

  • Where the schema lives: SKAdNetwork > Model Configuration > Add Conversion Model.
  • Meta: in Events Manager you choose "Import from Partner App" and enter the Singular MMP URL. Facebook pulls the latest model about once an hour.
  • One SDK only: Singular's Meta SKAN FAQ says only one SDK can manage SKAdNetwork conversion values in the same app.
  • Model changes: Singular says changing a conversion model takes up to 48 hours, includes a 24-hour gap with no conversion values, and leads Facebook to pause campaigns for 24 hours. It is a useful reference point when you plan the moment Meta switches to the new provider's mapping.
  • Google Ads: a Singular flow for Google reading the schema is not published. Google advises setting the schema in one place.

For background on how SKAN attribution works, see this glossary entry. The guide to remapping SKAN conversion values covers the handover order.

What happens to Singular link domains?

  • Branded domains: your own subdomain (for example link.yourbrand.com) replaces company.sng.link. You add it under Manage Link Domains, give the CNAME host and target values to IT, then click Validate; Singular creates the certificate automatically.
  • AASA and assetlinks hosting: not published in the branded domain article.
  • Links after the account ends, or a link migration guide: not published.

One domain serves one apple-app-site-association file, so a branded domain can point at only one provider at a time. On Android 15 and later, assetlinks.json changes can take up to seven days to reach all devices.

Which partner integrations do you switch off?

Partners are configured at Attribution > Partner Configuration, per app site. Singular always sends install postbacks and lets you choose other conversion and event postbacks, so remove each app site's partner configuration once the new provider is live.

Does Singular publish a guide for running two MMPs?

Yes. Singular publishes "Attribution Measurement During MMP Migration", with a per-network table of dual-MMP support. It says SKAN postbacks can be sent to only one MMP, TikTok for Business supports one MMP at a time, and X Ads does not support multiple MMP integrations. The guide to running two MMP SDKs in parallel covers the overlap.

Questions

How far back can I export user-level data from Singular?

The Export Logs page lets you download data from the beginning of the previous month. Default retention is 14 days for impressions and 30 days for clicks and postbacks.

How much notice does Singular's contract need?

Singular's published terms say they renew automatically unless written notice of non-renewal is given at least 30 days before the current period ends. Check your own order documents for a different period.

What happens to my data when I leave Singular?

The terms say that on termination the account shuts down and all Customer Data stored on the services is permanently deleted. Export what you need before the end date.

Can Singular and a new MMP both receive SKAN postbacks?

No. Singular's migration article says SKAN postbacks can be sent to only one MMP, even when both SDKs are integrated.

How long does it take to switch MMP?

This site's planner pencils in about 7 to 12 weeks from contract check to retiring the old setup, most of it a 2 to 4 week parallel run. No vendor publishes a standard length; your release cycle, renewal notice and ad-network learning phases set the real pace.

Can I run two MMP SDKs at the same time?

Yes, for a while. AppsFlyer and Singular both publish guides for measuring with two MMPs, but SKAN postbacks go to only one MMP, TikTok supports one MMP at a time and X Ads does not support two.
